Accelerated Resolution Therapy

Keep the memory, lose the pain

– Laney Rosenzweig

What is this new treatment called “Accelerated Resolution Therapy”?  It is the latest development in eye movement therapies.  Accelerated Resolution Therapy or ART (as it is often called by therapists trained in this technique) is the brain child of Laney Rosenzweig, LMFT.  She had been trained in another eye movement therapy and became frustrated with the outcomes she was seeing.  She decided to “play around” and experiment with what she knew and developed the wonderful approach that we now know as “Accelerated Resolution Therapy.”  She combined evidence based techniques (such as Cognitive Behavioral) and time honored approaches (like Gestalt among others) to improve her clients outcomes.  She was very happy to see some of her clients resolving issues in as few as one to two sessions!  Recently her approach has been undergoing evaluation by a research university.  There is preliminary clinical evidence that Accelerated Resolution Therapy is helpful for psychological trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).  It is still under investigation, but therapists trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) have anecdotal evidence of its effectiveness.

Personally, I have had clients tell me: “It’s the best thing ever,” “Does everyone have a strong reaction after one session?” and “I don’t know what you did to my husband, but he is a different man!”  I have seen clients get relief for past sexual abuse, anger management, anxiety, and PTSD in as few as 1 to 5 sessions.  I am one of the first therapists trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy in the Tampa Bay area and have become a big proponent of ART.  Although it may not be for everyone, every client I have used Accelerated Resolution Therapy with has enjoyed positive results.  If you are in the Tampa Bay area, are interested in experiencing a new approach to your struggles and want to try Accelerated Resolution Therapy, feel free to contact me.   You may also want to check out Laney Rosenzweig’s site.
